This shed is in Wye and George Clarke would surely be amazed by this space.
Restaurateurs Scott Richardson and Mark Lightford of the Kings Head in Church Street have converted an old stable building at the rear of the former coaching inn, into a fantastic micro pizzeria.
The KingShed sits at the end of a covered walk lined with tables and benches where diners can enjoy a drink from the Kings Head bar while their pizza is being lovingly created and baked in the KingShed.
But the real magic is inside. On entering the shed your eye is taken by the bespoke Italian pizza oven, brightly lit and sitting like something from Dr Who in an otherwise rustic building.
The owners have brought in Marco Fuso, renowned pizza expert and 2017/18 World Pizza Champion to train the team in the art of dough making, pizza throwing and baking.
True to the ethos of the Kings Head, the pizzeria uses locally sourced ingredients for classic toppings, such as Wye Community Farm Lamb, locally produced mushrooms for the Ham & Mushroom and of course the eggs are locally produced as well.
Each pizza is made to order to either eat in with a cold beer or glass of wine, or to take home and enjoy al fresco.
KingShed is open 4pm to 10pm from Wednesday to Friday, 12 noon to 10pm on Saturdays and 5pm to 10pm on Sundays.
Checkout the KingShed website for the menu and to learn more about the pizzeria.
