Scout Group Brass Band Concert in aid of UK Scouting

Bill Sharp is running the London Marathon in April for UK Scouting and as part of his fundraising he has organised a concert with 1st Whitstable Scout Group Brass Band who will be playing a range of music on this evening with proceeds going towards UK Scouting and Christ Church, South Ashford

The band was formed in 1919 by members of the 1st Whitstable Scout Group and has been in continual existence ever since.

It is a full brass band with a largely adult membership; the core being drawn from the Scout Group, necessarily complemented by musician friends from outside of the Scout Association.

The band continues to flourish, giving concerts throughout Kent, performing on bandstands, at local festivals and regularly playing in Canterbury Cathedral.  Over the years there have also been numerous continental appearances, most recently in Borken, Germany (2012) and Béziers, France (2015, 2017 and 2019).

The band prides itself on offering its listeners an ever-changing and entertaining selection of music, covering a wide variety of styles.
